Workshops
Wellness & Emotional Release: Feel calmer, energized, and creatively inspired.
How it works
-
Choose your workshop – wellness, seniors, non-profit, corporate, or private.
-
Engage in the creative process – explore color, texture, and movement in a safe, non-judgmental space
-
Experience the benefits – release stress, spark creativity, laugh, and connect with yourself and others.
How My Workshops Differ From Traditional Painting Classes
This is not a "paint whatever you want" class – it's a guided emotional release experience.
Most traditional painting classes focus on techniques, steps, and creating a finished piece to hang on the wall. My workshops are completely different. They are designed as an expressive, sensory, and movement-based experience that helps release tension, calm the nervous system, and reconnect you to your body.
Here's how Abstract Communication workshops are different:
1. Process Over Product
The goal is not to create a perfect artwork. The goal is to move, express, release, and allow the painting to reflect how you feel in the moment.
2. Palette-Knife Technique Only
Using a palette knife activates different brain pathways than a brush. It creates physical resistance that helps release stored tension in the hands, arms, and body.
3. Movement + Painting
Light movement or gentle dance loosens the body and increases emotional flow. You're invited to move at your own comfort level – even small shifts count.
4. Non-Clinical Therapeutic Experience
The workshops are not therapy, but they are grounding, regulating, and emotionally supportive. Many participants feel lighter, clearer, and more connected afterward.
5. No Pressure, No Judgment
You cannot do this wrong. The art is meant to feel good – not look a certain way. People who say "I'm not artistic" usually end up loving this process.
6. You Leave With Insight, Not Just Art
You leave with a piece that reflects your energy, mood, or release – and a feeling of clarity, grounding, or calm.
In short:
-
This is not a perfection or skill-based class.
-
This is not a paint-and-sip or step-by-step class.
-
This is not about copying a picture.
This is a guided, embodied, expressive, and freeing art experience designed to help you feel better – not perform better.
If someone says, "Isn't this just painting whatever you want?" The answer is: No – it's painting how you feel.
And that makes all the difference.
